Eco-friendly lunchbox kits that don’t cost the Earth (or your bank!)
But why Choose An ECO-FRIENDLY Lunchbox?
When we found out that the average Aussie throws away 118 kilograms of plastic each year, we were gobsmacked!
Instead of burying our heads in the sand (it’s tempting, we know),
we poured our hearts into a SOLUTION
that suits the consumer AND our planet….
This quote by Howard Zinn sums up our environmental philosophy so beautifully,
“We don’t have to engage in grand, heroic actions to participate in change.
Small acts, when multiplied by million of people, can transform the world.”
We came up with an easy, affordable substitute for your plastic lunchbox that:
- LOOKS SMASHIN’ (after all, ‘eco’ shouldn’t be daggy)
- IS HIGH QUALITY (cause life’s too short to waste your time with shitty product),
- LASTS (we believe ALL products should be made with durability in mind),
- DOESN’T COST THE EARTH…(Or your bank account!)
Designed by busy people for busy people, our lunchbox kits are versatile & easy to clean (yup, they’ll even go in the dishwasher!).
We’ll even show you simple meal plans to save money, reduce waste & make packing your lunch a breeze…
And give you some simple kitchen tips to reduce plastic without causing a fuss!
So if you’d like to join us in creating a
kickass positive impact on the planet,

MFC Eco-Friendly Lunchbox Kits FAQ's
What are the kits made of?
The light brown bases are made from rice husk fibre, which is a natural waste product from food industry. The lids contains a silicone ring to prevent leakage but are however made of plastic to improve durability and a better seal. We are working on a totally plastic-free solution but in the meantime we think this is a big step in the right direction! The cooler bag is made from felt which is generally considered to be a more environmentally-friendly solution than polyester based fabrics. The handles are double-stitched and reinforced so they won't stretch or bust open. The bags are also thermo insulated to help retain either heat or cold.
How does it biodegrade (and will it last)?
The entire kit is made with durability in mind. It is microwave safe, freezer safe and dishwasher safe and is comparably shatter- and scratchproof to plastic. The biodegradable process is kick-started once the natural life cycle of the kit has finished and it is buried in dirt (either in your home or in landfill). I've been using the first prototype sample of the kit I received for six months now and it is still as good as new.
Is it safe/non-toxic?
All containers are BPA free and tested by a toxicology lab in Europe to ensure they are free from heavy metals.
Why 'made in China'?
Quite simply, it boils down to consumer expectations of cost. We investigated other manufacturing options but this would have doubled or tripled the cost of each kit. We felt it was really important to price this with accessibility and affordability in mind.
What is each piece used for?
Large lunchbox: It contains a dividing piece for salads etc but that can be lifted out to house one long wrap or sandwich. The next biggest container is great for soups, yoghurt, cut fruit or veggie sticks. I use the second smallest container for nuts, seeds, chocolate and small snack food. The itty bitty container is a home for salad dressings and sauces. As for the cutlery case, this is great for a portable cutlery case in your handbag or backpack so that it can be used as an eco-friendly option when having take away or eating at a food court.
